Members of Nuneaton & Bedworth CAMRA met with members of Hinckley & Bosworth CAMRA at the Rose Inn, Coton Road for the 5th annual NH Sporting Challenge.

The challenge, born out of the recognition of our neighbouring branch for the assistance they have given us during our beer festivals and consists of a series of traditional pub games and is contested annually during January.

Hinckley & Bosworth fielded a strong team, clearly outnumbering the Nuneaton & Bedworth Home team.

The teams were, as usual, evenly matched and were neck-and-neck for most of the evening with Nuneaton taking control of the dart-board.

But as the saying goes “What you win on the swings, you lose on the roundabouts” and Hinckley dominated the domino and pool tables.

After a sneaky picture round of local pub interiors, devised by Ray Buckler, Hinckley secured a resounding 16-11 away victory and were rewarded with the coveted NH Trophy, presented by Ray Buckler (Nuneaton & Bedworth) to Norman Hall (Hinckley & Bosworth).



The trophy can now be seen, proudly displayed in the Pestle & Mortar in Hinckley.
