New Branch Status
Although CAMRA’s inaugural meetings were held in Nuneaton, Warwickshire and more recently Coventry & North Warwickshire has long been recognised as CAMRA’s local division.
With the continued growth of membership within CAMRA, and the areas to be covered, it became necessary to create sub-branches to ease the burden on parent branches. So, in September / October 1982 Coventry & MId-Warwickshire CAMRA created the Nuneaton & Bedworth sub-branch.
Over the years the Nuneaton & Bedworth sub-branch undertook all the duties of a full branch, but without the associated financial and administrative burdens.
Over the years, several attempts were been made to convert to full branch status, and this was finally achieved in May 2014 when CAMRA's National Executive ratified the creation of the Nuneaton & Bedworth branch.
