Hare & Hounds becomes a ‘Proper Pub’
The Hare & Hounds reopened in April after a £286,000 refurbishment and becomes part of Stonegate’s Proper Pub estate. Inside, the pub has benefited from new fixtures, fittings, flooring & furniture throughout while the décor has been updated to give a warm welcome. The pub retains its original two-room format, with a cozy lounge for intimate gatherings, and a sports room complete with pool table & dart board. Outside, the courtyard and beer garden has also been upgraded with new benches and festoon lighting. We wish Sarah Jane every success with the popular community pub.

Fire at country pub & restaurant In the early hours of 10th May, a fire which started by an electrical appliance, ripped through the Cottage Inn in Fillongley. Fortunately, and thanks to the fire alarm system, Luke Bratchie and his family, who were asleep, managed to escape the and raise the alarm. As can be seen from the photographs, the fire brigade managed to restrict the damage to the living quarters, but it will be some time before the building can be restored and the pub and restaurant can return to normal.
