Fife Street Club & Electric Circus closure
The Nuneaton social club, which had the UK's largest pinball arcade, has closed after 91 years. Last orders were called forever at Fife Street Retro pub (July 30).
In recent years it played home to the UK's largest pay per play licensed retro pinball arcade, but the Fife Street-based club's history dates back almost 100 years. In its heyday, it was one of the key players in Nuneaton's social club scene.
It had a number of sporting teams, including dominoes, and hosted numerous weekly events for its members.
But in recent years it has faced the threat of closure numerous times, with the popularity of clubland dwindling. It was only reopened in May 2019 after being saved by the community following its closure the year before.
It was hoped that the pinball arcade, which boasted more than 40 machines, would help secure its future. But both the arcade and the club itself closed for the last time on Sunday 30th July.
The Horseshoes are now offering 10% discount to card carrying members.
