Church End brewery will be celebrating the 29th anniversary of their first brew – M Reg. named after the car registration mark of that year. M Reg. originally 4.1% abv has evolved over the years to become Vicar’s Ruin (4.4%), one of the core beers produced by the brewer.
Lord Nelson Beer festival, planned for the 17th-20th August, this years theme being all things Caribbean.
Nuneaton Round Table Beer Festival is back!.
Building on the success of last years festival, Nuneaton Round Table will be holding another beer festival at the Nuneaton RFC clubhouse off Eastborough Way, this time over four days – 28th September to 1st October, with 60 beers & ciders on tap.
July will see the departure of Glynn & Debra Roberts from the Weavers Arms in Fillongley, but not before their final charity music festival.
Over the past 10 years, The Weavers has raised over £80,000 for various charities including £55,000 for the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
Meanwhile, just a short distance away, Keith & Lorraine Etheridge have decided to take a well-earned retirement after 20 years at the Cottage Inn. We wish their successors Luke & Ellie every success in their new venture.
The rolling refurbishment of the Anker Inn , Hartshill, is nearing completion with the Canalside Bar and garden receiving a full make-over. A large marquee now adorns the garden, alongside a newly relayed garden and children’s play area. The carpark has also had electric hook-up points installed for passing motorhomes.
Byatt’s Brewery News
Byatt’s Mahana IPA has been awarded gold for the second year running, in the West Midlands region of the Champion Beer of Britain Competition in the British & New World IPA category and will go forward into the National competitions with the winner being announced at the Great British Beer Festival at Olympia in August.
Mahana IPA is packed full of beautiful New Zealand hops, giving a fresh, fruity aroma with mouth watering tropical fruit flavours. It is a stunning vibrant gold in colour, hence the name Mahana – Maori for Sunshine.
There still remains a level of uncertainty over the futures of the Royal Oak , Hartshill, the Prince of Wales and the Travellers Rest, both in Bedworth and the Weavers Arms in Fillongley which are all still looking for new management.

Pubs Officer(s) – to liaise with ALL publicans in the branch area and update CAMRA’s Pub database.
GBG (Good Beer Guide) Co-Ordinator – to ensure CAMRA’s pub database is up to date.
Social Secretary – to organize and publicize branch social events and monthly meetings.
