Pub & Branch News
Whilst we are pleased to see two new pubs open in Attleborough (Smoking Bull and Fuel) we are saddened by the news that we are about to see several, long serving licensees ring last orders for the final time.
These currently include the White Hart (Ridge Lane), The Weavers Arms (Fillongley), Hare & Hounds (Heath End Rd.), Prince of Wales (Bedworth), Travellers Rest (Bedworth), Royal Oak (Hartshill), The Horseshoes (Nuneaton) and the Royal Oak (Attleborough).
They all have cited the increase on their utility bills as the major reason for wanting to leave the trade.
The good news is that the majority of those listed are actively looking for new tenants to take on the businesses.
Vacancies:
still exist for the following:
Magazine distributor – to deliver the branch magazine in the Stockingford area (Royal Oak, White Lion, Miners Arms, Sunnyside).
Pubs Officer(s) – to liaise with ALL publicans in the branch area and update CAMRA’s Pub database.
GBG (Good Beer Guide) Co-Ordinator – to ensure CAMRA’s pub database is up to date.
Social Secretary – to organize and publicize branch social events and monthly meetings.
** Please Note that there will be an opportunity to become more involved with the day-to-day running of the Nuneaton & Bedworth branch of CAMRA at our Annual General Meeting on 14th March at the Lord Hop, 7:30pm start.
